Plant produces good yields of small 2 to 3" round bright red eggplants. Perfect for grilling, frying, stuffing, baking, and pickling. Well known in Asian cuisine and used in stir-fries. It is not bitter unless allowed to ripen to the red stage. Picked green and prepared as you would any other eggplant. They are an unusual, attractive, and very tasty. Used extensively in Asian dishes and Vietnamese cooking. Also know as Hmong Red Eggplant and Miniature Pumpkin Eggplants. Excellent choice for home gardens and specialty market growers. This variety is also known as "Hmong Red" and comes from Thailand.
